What Bobby did last year

Bobby goes to the library - 9th November 2006 BOBBY This was my first visit out and about with the boys and girls of Primary 1N at Culter School. goodbyes.  The boy and girls wore their jackets as it was quite chilly but poor me just had my bear fur and my school jumper to keep me warm! When we went inside the library we all had to be very quiet as there were other people using the library. P1N looked at the books in the childrens library and got to choose 1 book to borrow.  Miss Nicol read a story to the class - it was called ‘It’s a Bears Life’ and was written by Anna Wilson. I really liked the story as it had a hotel just for bears in it! When it time to go Gregor and Connor held Bobby’s paw to walk back to school. Bobby had a look in the bag of books from the library to see what the boys and girls of P1N had chosen. Laura chose ‘Can’t you sleep little bear?’, Daniel B chose a about a pet hamster called ‘Monster’. Maisie chose a book of ballet stories, Daniel W and Felicity both chose books about horses. We all really enjoyed our trip to the library and hopefully we will be going back soon. I loved my trip and hope I’ll get to go on more adventures! Where will I go next? Watch this space! Bobby

Bobby stays with Laura - 24th - 26th November 2006 I had a busy weekend staying with Laura and the Jex family. On Friday after school Laura took me along to her dancing class. It looked really good fun. Laura also took me to the supermarket. You can see a picture of me parking the car! I even got to help push the trolley and I couldn’t believe how many jars of yummy honey there were! We also went shopping into town. It was very busy but Laura held my paw very tightly so that I wouldn’t get lost. We saw a man drawing pictures. The artist drew a very funny picture of Laura, Robert and I. It made us laugh! We also visited Banchory on Sunday with Laura’s family. Here is a picture of me at the stone which says Banchory. I had a lovely time with Laura and her family and they really looked after me. I came back to school on Monday smartly dressed in my uniform ready for another week at school! Bobby

Bobby’s first Christmas cardP4C have been very busy this week sorting and handing out Culter School’s Christmas post. I got my very own Christmas card today. It was a lovely card with a bear just like me on the front. Thank you very much Cameron! Bobby

What a super weekend I’ve had!Bobby Christmas is coming! - 6th December, 2006Here I am getting in the Christmas spirit! I can’t wait until the Christmas concert and I’m enjoying listening to P1N practise their concert songs. I’ve looked out some of the decorations and I’d love to surprise the boys and girls by decorating the classroom. I don’t know how I’ll reach the top of the tree! I think I’ll need some help! BobbyChristmas is coming Part 2! 8th December, 2006 The boys and girls of P1N were very excited to find me amongst all the Christmas decorations on Friday after lunch! At golden time they helped me and decorated the classroom tree and it looks lovely. Although the boys and girls weren’t tall enough either to reach the top! Bobby

Bobby goes away with Ewan - 8th-10th December I set off with the Bell’s on Saturday morning to go to Dundee. We visited the ship R.R.S Discovery which went to the Antartic on a Polar Expedition nearly 100 years ago! We didn’t go inside as it was too tricky for a bear! I also saw theTay Bridge. The Bell family then took me in the car to Kirkcaldy to visit Ewan’s friend Calum. On the Saturday night we all went to a surprise 40th birthday party for Ewan’s uncle. It was really good fun - there were balloons, party hats and Ewan, Calum and I got to drink lemonade and stay up very late! Then on Sunday we went for a walk on the beach from Kirkcaldy to Dysart. It was very windy and Ewan and Callum had to hold onto me very tightly. I found a found a stone amongst the rocks and chose to take it home as a souvenir. It is an orangey pink colour and is called sandstone. I visited some more of Ewan’s relatives before going in the car back to Aberdeen. Ewan and I slept in the car - what a busy weekend!Bobby

Cockadoodle Christmas - 10th & 11th December 2006 Here I am trying on a costume from the Christmas concert. I love the songs the boys and girls were practising especially ‘A New Silky Ribbon’. All the classes worked hard to learn their song words and everyone really enjoyed the concert. Well done for all the hard work! Bobby david.jpg

Bobby stays with David - 15th-17th December On Saturday I went to watch David and his sister Heather at karate. After that the Blasdale family drove down to Edinburgh for the night, They went to Princes Street which had lots of Christmas Stalls and David and his family had waffles and chocolate…mmm! David and Heather went on a bungee trampoline but I just watched because I am too small to go on. I was big enough to go on the helter skelter with David which was great! As David’s mum and dad were going out at night David, Heather and I had a sleepover at Auntie Christine’s house. We ate pizza and watched DVDs. The next day Auntie Christine took us to the statue of Greyfriars Bobby where I got my picture taken. Then we all went shopping and David got some new clothes for the Christmas party. Then the Blasdales went to see the Snowman at the theatre. This was our favourite part of the weekend! David, Heather and I all slept very soundly in the car on the way back home to Aberdeen! Bobby

Everyone made a real fuss of me – it was great! On Saturday morning Felicity and I helped her dad with some DIY! We had to help her dad fix the fence as their dogs Ruby and Jester kept escaping from the garden through a hole! Felicity and I went to Homebase to get some wood to make a desk for Felicity’s sister. I got to help the man cut the wood. The saw was very big but I was careful not to hurt my paw! After lunch we went into town to collect Felicity’s sister from her dancing lessons and we did a bit of shopping. We went to a card shop to buy cards for Felicity’s dad’s special birthday! I helped Felicity choose a card with a big bear just like me on it! After tea we watched Cars on DVD – it was great and we needed to relax after our busy day! On Sunday Felicity let me play with her and her Safari hospital in her bedroom. We were so excited when we noticed it was snowing. Felicity held me up so I could watch the snow falling out of the window. We had a lovely roast pork dinner at lunchtime but we all needed a walk afterwards so took the dogs across the fields for a nice walk. Later on Felicity played dressing up with me and then it was time for bed. Felicity helped me get changed back into my school clothes ready for the morning and I settled into my box for a rest. I enjoyed my weekend and Felicity really looked after me and kept me so busy! Bobby

Bobby stays with Lauren - Fri 26th - Sun 28th January 2007 It was a nice surprise to go home with Lauren as I was supposed to visit Sarah’s house but she wasn’t feeling well enough to take me on some adventures. I met her Daddy, her brother Callum, her sister Jane and then her Mummy when she got home from work. I got to help Sarah in the kitchen making tea with her Daddy. After tea it was bath time for Sarah. I started to feel a bit worried in case I had to have one too! Phew, I just had to watch! I got to play a game of Snakes and Ladders which I won! Then it was time for bed. I got to snuggle up to Sarah and her Mummy read us a story. It was a story about a hairy dog called Hairy McLarey - it was very funny story yawn, yawn. We had to get up early so there was no lie in for this sleepy bear! We had to take Callum to football, then Jane to Soo-yang-do. When we came home Sarah and I played on her trampoline. We jumped so high I thought we were going to touch the sky. Then it was lunch time. after lunch we went for a walk along the railway line. It was really muddy but Sarah made sure I didn’t fall in the mud. We saw some birds nests and lots of people walking their dogs. Later on Sarah painted a jewellery box which she had made out of plaster - it was lovley. We also went to the park and then watched High School Muscial on Dvd. Before we went to bed Sarah’s tooth fell out. This was the 3rd tooth she’d lost in 2 weeks! Sarah put her tooth under her pillow and in the middle of the night I caught a glimpse of the tooth fairy sneaking the tooth away! I wanted to wake up Sarah but I didn’t in case we frightened the tooth fairy away. In the morning Sarah got a lovely surprise when she peeked under her pillow! we had bacon and eggs for breakfast and then went to B&Q with Sarah’s Daddy. Then we visited Sarah’s Granda who gave us ice cream and fizzy juice. Yummy! Just as well Sarah’s Mummy wasn’t there otherwise we wouldn’t have been allowed the fizzy juice! I had a lovely timne with Sarah and her family and she said she will miss me too! Bobby

Bobby’s Gerrie Adventures - Fri 9th - Sun 11th February Kiam took me home this weekend and I was excited to see he was having his bedroom re-decorated. Kiam kept me away from the wet paint just in case I got any on my fur. I had to get used to Kiam’s 2 dogs! at first I was a bit scared of them but soon we became good friends. We had to go to bed early on Friday as the next day was going to be very busy as it was Kiam’s brother Keillor’s party. Kiam woke me up at 6am on Saturday! I couldn’t believe my little bears eyes but it really was that time! Far too early for a bear to get up! We got up and had breakfast and watched TV while Kiam’s Mummy prepared food for the party which was at the Village Hall.  At the party there was lots of children I recognised from school. Then a man callled Mr Bug arrived to do a show. He passed around lots of different animals for us all to hold. There was a snake, a millipede, a lizard, a spider, giant snails, a hedgehog and even a scorpian. Thankfully the scorpian was not let out of it’s box because it’s poisonous. Kiam’s sister held me very tightly - I think she knew I was a liitle bit scared but they were all very friendly really. There was music and party food and lots of gifts for Keillor the birthday boy. We played a game called ‘Traffic Lights’ and lucky Kiam was the winner. When we got home I had a dog ride on one of the dog’s back . It was mega fun and Kiam could not stop laughing! I met another bear in Kiam’s house. We became beary good pals! His name is Scott and I liked his cool clothes. On Sunday we had another party to go to. Kiam woke up feeling a bit poorly so I cuddled him while he slept on the sofa. Kiam felt better and went to the party but I had to saty at home as I had a sore throat - I could bearly talk! We had a yummy Sunday dinner and then I got a present of my own! I was so excited! It was a new pair of jeans, a striped top, a zip up cardigan and a winter jackert and hat. How brilliant! I can now go on more outdoor adventures now I have more cosy clothes! Scott said I could keep the clothes as he has plenty. Ihave had such an exciting time at the Gerrie house. I’ve made new friends and had super fun. Bobby

Hurray! Friday came round again and I was off on my travels again! This time I went home with Kirsten. Kirsten helped me change into my play clothes but didn’t have time to change into her own! We were off to swimming. It looked like lots of fun and I really enjoyed watching from behind the glass. We were allowed to stay up late as there was no school the next day. I was ready for bed as the busy Craig family had worn me out! Sadly on Saturday it wasn’t nice weather at all and Kirsten’s big brother Duncan’s football was cancelled. Kirsten’s mum decided to tidy Kirsten’s room- she made a real mess first of all but it looked lovely when she was finished! KirstenLater on we went into town and Kirsten took me home to the Bear Factory. It was lovely to see some old friends again. Kirsten really wanted to take one home. I think she would like a girl bear. Maybe for her birthday! There were some super clothes for bears – it was shopper’s heaven! I was tired when I got home and needed time to read Kirsten’s Barbie Pegasus book. picture-004-600-x-450-600-x-450.jpgPeace and quiet - sheer bliss! Saturday night TV was great – the skating was on! On Sunday we got another long lie because football was cancelled again! I helped build Kirsten’s new desk. It looks great and it will be good for doing homework. I was a very sleepy bear after my busy day and got a real surprise to find an impostor in my bed! It was Perdita the cat – she is huge! Cameron’s Mummy soon removed her thankfully! Then we had another nice bedtime story from Cameron’s Daddy. On Monday morning Cameron and I said our goobyes.  Cameron said he’d ‘never forget me’ which was very touching!  I’ll miss him but I have to go back to school to learn. Bobby

Jenny’s mum was away for the weekend at Crufts the dog show. She had gone to see Jenny’s Uncle Allan and his dog Quinn compete in the dog agility competition. On Saturday we got up quite early as Jenny and Iain were getting their haircut. I like going into town so I went with them. I stayed away from the scissors as I didn’t want my fur trimmed! We got a little bored waiting but Jenny invented a new game. In our game we had to try and touch each others noses! It was very funny and we laughed a lot – so did the other ladies waiting! Afterwards we went to buy a birthday card for Lili. We then had to rush back to Culter in time for Lili’s party. It was great to see some more of my Culter School friends at the party.jenny-006.jpg In the evening we all settled down to watch Crufts hoping to see Quinn and Uncle Allan on the television. On Sunday we all helped to clean the house. Jenny’s mum phoned to say that Uncle Allan was in the final which was exciting news. We then went to visit Jenny’s Grandma in Westhill. She lives with Auntie Kim and cousin Callum so I got to meet them too. We had such a lot of fun playing and later had tea. Nathan helped me out of my school clothes and we went outside to feed his rabbits – Thumper and Sally. Nathan’s Mummy helped me hold Sally Rabbit- her whiskers were really tickly- hee hee!dscf0107.jpg When we finished playing with the rabbits we went to Nathan’s Granny and Granda for tea. After tea we went into the forest to take Tia for a walk. We were looking for tadpoles and saw a red squirrel, Nathan’s dad helped me climb a tree to get a closer look! When we finished we went home and got ready for bed but I can’t remember going to be I was so tired. We had a lie in on Saturday and just as we were sitting down for breakfast Nathan’s Granny came round with his cousin Kyle and Connor came round to play too. We all had some breakfast together before going out to play in the garden. In the afternoon Nathan went to play football for the Culter Gala down on the school pitch. I stayed at the house with Nathan’s Mummy because I was tired from playing in the garden. I helped tidy up a little and then I had a nap with Lewis. When Nathan got home he was all excited because he got a medal for winning at football. His Mummy was really proud! I was excited as he let me wear the medal for a photo! We went up to Nathan’s Grandma and Grandad’s for tea. Nathan’s Grandad has got a Bob Cat Digger. We wanted to drive it but we are too little so we got our photo taken sitting in it. Nathan wanted to show me his vegetable path that his Grandad helped him make. There were carrots, radishes and cress. I really wanted to pull up the carrots but they were not ready yet. Nathan and Lewis stayed the night at their Grandma’s and there were no spare beds because Nathan’s big cousin Hannah was staying too. Nathan asked his Mummy to take me home and I got his bed all to myself. It was great having a bed all to myself! Nathan’s Mummy and Daddy to me to Inverurie to meet Nathan, Lewis, Nathan’s Grandad, Uncle Allan, cousin Hannah and baby cousin Dylan and they all went swimming. I stayed at the side with Nathan’s Mummy. Lewis wanted to take me down the slide but I didn’t want to get wet so Nathan’s Mummy held onto me tightly – phew! dscf0104.jpgWhen we finished at the pool we went to Morrison’s for lunch. I shared Nathan’s and we had sausage, beans and chips- yummy! After lunch we said goodbye to everyone and I got a cuddle from baby Dylan! We went to Banchory and took Tia for a walk in Scolty woods. I saw lots of dogs but there was a little collie puppy that was so cute. It was so cute and it was its first time out for a walk and his name was Hamish. Hamish was playing with Tia and was so excited he wasn’t looking where he was going and ran straight into the back of Nathan’s Mummy – it was so funny! Nathan found a ladybird and wanted to take it home but after he took a photo of it he decided to put it back on a tree. We went for an ice cream in Banchory when Tia got tired. I didn’t have one as I didn’t want to get all dirty. When we got home I helped Nathan feed his rabbits and got my photo taken with both of them, they are so soft and fluffy. After tea we watched TV and then got ready for bed. I was really tired after my busy day. I’m excited about telling the other boys and girls about my adventures with Nathan. Bobby

Bobby goes to Jonathan’s house - Fri 12th - 14th May 2007 This weekend Bobby I went to Jonathan’s house.  Jonathan’s Mummy was away all weekend at a seminar so it was up to Daddy to keep Jonathan, his sisters Ellie and Holly and little me all fed, watered and entertained. On Friday night we all sat down to pastas and chicken and we watched The Chronicles of Narnia.  I thought it was a really exciting film.  After the film we were all feeling sleepy so we went to straight to bed. After we had lunch it had stopped raining so we went back outside to play- yaay!  Daddy tidied the garden and fixed his chainsaw while Johnnie and I played on the climbing frame.  After having so much fun outside Johnnie was ready for his bath and then we had tea.  We slept very well!  It was a super weekend even though the weather was wet. Then we went to Dobbies and saw cute bunnies and fish. Later we had a barbecue in the garden.  We were all stuffed with yummy food.  On Sunday Emily took me to her home and she showed me her bedroom and she introduced me to all her dolls and teddy bears.  After Lunch Emily did some drawing and colouring.  I really wanted to help but my paws just couldn’t hold the pens!  Later, we all went in the car to collect Emily’s Mummy from work. She seemed really pleased to meet me and gave me a big hug!  The sun was shining so Emily went out for a ride on her bike when we got home.  I was strapped into the little seat on the back!  I enjoyed whizzing around in the sunshine!  Emily’s Mummy took our photo.  Then it was teatime, followed by baths.  Emily undressed me and I was starting to worry but then she sat me nearby!  Phew!  I was getting sleepy so was glad to snuggle up with Emily in her cosy bed.  Emily’s mummy out my school uniform at the bottom of the bed then read us a bedtime story about bears!  I’ve had a lovely weekend with Emily.
